Copyright Policy

A clear explanation of who owns what on StoryNest™ — for authors, publishers and readers.

Ownership

You wrote it. You own it.

Authors

Every story you publish remains your copyright. You control distribution, derivatives and withdrawal.

Publishers

Publishers retain existing rights in works they've licensed and manage those rights through their own publisher account.

Readers

A read on StoryNest™ is a licence to enjoy — not to redistribute, resell or scrape.
Licensing

What happens when you publish.

  1. 01

    Limited licence to us

By publishing you grant StoryNest™ a non-exclusive licence to host, display and distribute the work solely to run the Services.

  2. 02

    No ownership transfer

We never claim ownership of your writing, art or audio.

  3. 03

    Withdrawable at any time

Remove a work from your Studio; our licence ends when removal completes.

  4. 04

No AI training on your work

Author works are not used to train foundation models without opt-in.

Public-domain works

Classics live here too — respectfully.

StoryNest™ hosts a growing library of public-domain classics — Tagore, Vivekananda, the Panchatantra, Ramayana, Mahabharata, Kipling and many more. These are freely readable, freely downloadable and clearly marked as public domain, with translation attribution where applicable.

Enforcement

Report infringement.

Believe your work has been copied without permission?

We honour valid takedown notices and provide a fair counter-notice process for authors whose work is removed by mistake.
